Sneaky Dedications (or Thanks for Nothing!)

I came across “7 Book Dedications that Basically Say Screw Youover at Mental Floss and was particularly tickled by the #6 dedication written by author Alfie Kohn in the forward of his book “No Contest: The Case against Competition”:

Let me note, finally, that most of the research for this book was done in the libraries of Harvard University, the size of whose holdings is matched only by the school’s determination to restrict access to them. I am delighted to have been able to use these resources, and it hardly matters that I was afforded this privilege only because the school thought I was someone else.”

The Student Becomes The Master!

What does South Korean plastic surgery, Penn State Football, Nazi human experimentation, Western obsession with sports, pictures of Beyonce, and my book, Leverage have in common?  They were some of the topics my friend Karielle (book blogger extraordinaire) over at Books a la Mode addressed when the interviewee (me) became the interviewer!  (Cue scary Frankenstein “It’s Alive” music now).  This was all part of a follow up session that occurred because as the two of us corresponded during my “author interview,” I quickly came to realize she was a hell of a lot more fascinating than me and I wanted to find out more on behalf of her followers and fans!  (quick note:  fiction writers often don’t lead all that exciting an existence and that’s why they create exciting stories).  Anywhoo, if you’d like to find out a bit more about Ms. K’s views on a variety of topics and what she’d be doing with her book obsession pre-internet, check out the interview.  If you’d like to sign up for a chance to win a signed copy of “Leverage” visit our day one interview here.

Peace!

LEVERAGE gets “Hall of Fame” Review!!!

Wow!  Just got word that LEVERAGE garnered the coveted “Hall of Fame” badge from Books a la Mode!  Careful, kids, that badge is pretty shiny (pure platinum, I believe) and if you stare at it too long, you might burn your retinas.  In all seriousness, I’m really honored by the amazing review.  Stay tuned because there will be a book giveaway along with a pretty intense Q/A on February 26th at Books a la Mode
